Our agency CENTURY 21 Agence Nivadour is committed together with UNICEF through the "Program for pre-school education in Bangladesh" *.

Bangladesh is in a social and economic hardship. With 139 million inhabitants, it is the most densely populated country in the world. It is also one of the poorest countries in the world, ranked in 139th place worldwide, 44% of the population living on incomes of less than one dollar a day. Nearly half the population is under 18 years.

Successive natural disasters and high unemployment in the countryside led to a strong rural-urban migration, resulting in its wake a population living in high poverty, without proper care of the weakest, the children.

In this difficult context, UNICEF France has set a goal to support the Bangladesh authorities to conduct a health and social policy allowing young children to develop in a protective environment and encourage their awake to give them all likely to succeed in school thereafter.

Scheduled from 2007 to 2010, the Pre-school education program in Bangladesh is supporting the operation of 550 pre-school centers in Bangladesh, which will allow 90 000 young children from 3 to 5 years to benefit from a health and social support.

The 550 pre-school centers** are centers of early childhood education, halfway between nurseries and kindergartens, which enable:

• to register the children, giving that the civil system is defective,
• to provide first aid and vaccinations if needed,
• to enrol at least as many girls as boys,
• to train locally 75 supervisors and 1100 teachers for the concerned centers.
